Tegher Pottery Center & Gastroyard is a cozy family-run business located in Tegher village, Aragatsotn region of northern Armenia, right next to the beautiful Tegher Monastery. Owned and run by the Parsamyan couple, the center invites guests to step into the charm of village life and enjoy the true Armenian hospitality.

The center offers the following services:

Overnight Stay - This is the perfect place to escape the city and enjoy peaceful countryside living. You can relax in fresh air, take in the cool summer breeze, and enjoy homemade, healthy food. During your stay you will feel completely at home, with warm and caring hosts who treat everyone like family.

Pottery Workshops - You can get your hands in the clay and create your own pottery piece in a fun, hands-on workshop. You can even ask the potter to fire your creation and take it home as a memory.

Wild Herb & Mushroom Foraging - During certain months, you can also be offered herb and mushroom picking trips, as well as forest walks and picnics in the beautiful nature around the village.

Food Experience - You can learn how to bake traditional lavash bread in a tonir oven, make simple village sandwiches, and even help prepare delicious local dishes. You can also enjoy a full homemade meal with dishes like tonir-roasted meats, buckwheat pilaf, and plech - all made with local ingredients and village-style recipes.

For School Groups - Gastroyard is also open to school groups, offering fun and educational programs that include pottery, exploring nature, and discovering real rural life in Armenia.

Located just steps away from the Pottery Center, this 13th-century black basalt monastery is a masterpiece of Armenian medieval architecture. Surrounded by mountains, it offers peaceful views and a sense of timeless spirituality.

An ancient royal burial site dating back to the 4th – 5th century, this complex is believed to house the remains of Armenian kings. With its quiet setting and stone structures, it offers a glimpse into early Armenian royalty.

Just a short drive away, this world-renowned observatory was founded by Viktor Ambartsumian. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, stargazing nights, and learn about Armenia’s pioneering role in space science.

Hidden in the hills near Tegher, this colossal and mysterious Soviet-era telescope is one of the largest of its kind. Though inactive, it’s a surreal site for photography and adventure off the beaten path.
