OVERVIEW
Lake Sevan is the largest freshwater lake in Armenia and the Caucasus region, and one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world, situated at an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level. Often referred to as the "Blue Pearl of Armenia," the lake is a vital natural, cultural, and recreational resource for the country. Lake Sevan covers an area of around 1,240 square kilometers. Its pristine waters, sandy beaches, and surrounding mountains make it a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a serene environment for relaxation, water sports, and exploration.

Geography: Lake Sevan is situated in a large mountain basin, surrounded by the Geghama, Vardenis, and Sevan mountain ranges. It is fed by 28 rivers and streams, with the Hrazdan River as its main outflow.
