Old Garni Restaurant is located next to one of Armenia’s most iconic cultural and historical landmarks, the Garni Temple. It sits directly across from the pagan temple-on the left side when facing the temple-with stunning views of the Azat Gorge. Old Garni is a family-run establishment and is considered one of the oldest and most beloved restaurants in the Garni area.
The menu offers a diverse selection of traditional and modern Armenian cuisine, prepared exclusively with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy lavash baked in a traditional tonir oven, a variety of grilled meats, kebabs, dolma, delicately prepared fish dishes, matsnapur (yogurt soup), and an extensive assortment of Armenian wines and brandies. A signature experience at Old Garni is the wide variety of herbal teas, served with Garni’s famous sweet gata, creating a truly unique and memorable flavor combination.
In the evening, the restaurant showcases a magnificent view of the Garni Temple beautifully illuminated against the night sky, creating a magical and peaceful atmosphere. This breathtaking view transforms any visit into a truly mysterious and unforgettable experience, enhanced by Armenian hospitality and the serene ambiance of the night.
Old Garni features open-air pavilions set across multiple levels, providing naturally private and comfortable spaces. The restaurant is ideal for family dinners, tourist group meals, and special events such as weddings, anniversaries, and festive celebrations.
